Come down to Per­sian Arts Festival’s (PAF) fifth annual arts fes­ti­val, where I will be launch­ing my new book of trans­la­tions, The Teller of Tales: Sto­ries from Ferdowsi’s Shah­nameh. The read­ing starts at 9:00 PM, but the evening starts at 7, when you can see the world pre­mière of “Our Sweet Life by the Pacific Ocean,” a play by Houshang Touzie, which will be given a staged read­ing by Shohreh Agh­dashloo and the play­wright him­self. There will also be music by Amir Vahab, a screen­ing of “Like A Phoenix From The Ashes” — a psy­che­delic visual feast of ultra-rare and vin­tage film from ’60s/’70s Iran and a Haft­seen art instal­la­tion curated by PAF Art Direc­tor Pooneh Mag­hazehe.
