When: Mar 26 2011, 7:00 PM — 11:00 PM
— — — — — — — — –Come down to Persian Arts Festival’s (PAF) fifth annual arts festival, where I will be launching my new book of translations, The Teller of Tales: Stories from Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh. The reading starts at 9:00 PM, but the evening starts at 7, when you can see the world première of “Our Sweet Life by the Pacific Ocean,” a play by Houshang Touzie, which will be given a staged reading by Shohreh Aghdashloo and the playwright himself. There will also be music by Amir Vahab, a screening of “Like A Phoenix From The Ashes” — a psychedelic visual feast of ultra-rare and vintage film from ’60s/’70s Iran and a Haftseen art installation curated by PAF Art Director Pooneh Maghazehe.
Buy tickets for “Our Sweet Life by the Pacific Ocean” here; and for the second half of the evening, which starts with my reading, here.
