Global Scholarly Publications 2006

Request an uncorrected proof of Selections from Saadi’s Bustan

Unfortunately, Selections from Saadi’s Bustan is out of print and the publisher, Global Scholarly Publications, has no plans for reprinting it. If you’d like a copy of the uncorrected proof, fill out the form below and I’ll be happy to send you a PDF. The only payment I ask is, first, that you tell me a little bit about why you’d like the book/how you plan to use it and, second, that you give me permission to add you to my mailing list so I can keep you up to date about my work. If you’d like to read some samples from Bustan, you can do so by clicking on the button below.

Richard Jeffrey Newman’s translation of Saadi’s Bustan is delightful, striking just the right balance between contemporary and classic. There is a wisdom in these pages that makes them sacred, yet there is also a system of ethics that makes them a “How To for the Soul,” and to tease out these meanings requires a master translator.

Bob Holman

It is fortunate that Richard Jeffrey Newman has produced this fine and engaging translation of Saadi’s Bustan for English readers. It will be a welcome contribution for lovers of poetry.
